Profhilo® treatment uses innovative, latest-generation hyaluronic acid technology to hydrate and restore tension to the skin of the face and body by stimulating the natural production of collagen and elastin.
The principle
Profhilo® is an injectable product combining two types of hyaluronic acid molecules: low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid helps hydrate the skin, while high-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid restores tension to sagging tissue.
The principle of action of Profhilo® injections is based on biostimulation. Hyaluronic acid is injected into areas of the skin where there is a loss of volume, density and elasticity. Once injected, hyaluronic acid spreads evenly across the skin, creating a biological stimulus that triggers the natural production of collagen and elastin. This increased production of collagen and elastin improves skin quality and appearance, making it smoother, firmer and more hydrated. Facial wrinkles are smoothed out.
Profhilo® is not a filler like those normally used in aesthetic medicine, and therefore does not alter the structure of the face. A wide range of skin areas can be treated: face, neck, hands, décolleté, arms, stomach and above the knees.
This hyaluronic acid-based anti-aging treatment is fast, minimally invasive and causes little or no pain.
How the session unfolds
Session duration varies according to the indication to be treated. On average, it lasts between twenty and thirty minutes. The aesthetic doctor makes a diagnosis for each patient during a preliminary consultation to determine the precise points on the skin where the product injections will be made to achieve optimum results, whether on the face or body.
After cleansing and removing make-up, the doctor injects the Profhilo® product with a very fine needle, using the bolus technique, to spread the hyaluronic acid in all three skin layers: epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. If necessary, a numbing ointment can be applied to the treated area.
After the injections
Profhilo® is 100% biocompatible and therefore has very few side effects.
As with other aesthetic medicine treatments, transient redness, hematoma and swelling may appear at the injection points on the skin. A burning sensation upon injection is possible but transient. Profhilo® injections leave no scars, and activities can be resumed immediately. UV exposure should be avoided for 3 to 5 days following treatment, as should any aesthetic treatment of the injected area.
The results
Profhilo® treatment provides a tensing effect and intense hydration for skin lacking tone from the very first session. Skin is plumped and the complexion more even and radiant. Fine lines are smoothed out and skin texture is greatly improved, without a volumizing effect. Elastin and collagen fibers will be stimulated in the weeks following the injections.
For optimum results, we recommend an average of two sessions, one month apart, depending on your skin quality. The effects of Profhilo® last 8 to 12 months on average.
