Cryolipolysis: a non-invasive solution for eliminating body fat using cold . It consists of eliminating fat cells by cooling them to -8°c, thus destroying them naturally and permanently.
The operating principle
Cryolipolysis, sometimes known as Coolsculpting or simply “cryo”, is a method for eliminating unwanted fat cells that won’t go away despite a healthy lifestyle. This treatment uses extreme cold to target and destroy localized fat deposits without damaging the skin or surrounding tissue. It’s a safe and effective alternative to traditional cosmetic surgery, such as liposuction.
How does cryolipolysis work?
Cryolipolysis uses a cooling handpiece that sucks in the fatty areas to be treated. Extreme cold (” Cryo “) destroys fat cells by reducing their temperature (“lipolysis“). The body naturally eliminates these destroyed cells over time.
What are the benefits of cryolipolysis?
- Non-invasive
Cryolipolysis involves no scarring or general anesthesia. - Safety
Treatment is safe and generally has no significant side effects. At the Claris Clinic, our nurses are trained and carry out treatments under medical supervision, using top-quality equipment. - Effective
Results are visible in just a few weeks and can last for years if a healthy lifestyle is maintained. - Adaptability
Cryolipolysis can be performed on several areas of the body, including the hips, saddlebags, stomach, arms and back. - No recovery time
Activities can be resumed immediately.
Which areas can be treated?
- The double chin
- Bust fat (in women)
- Chest (for men)
- Upper arms
- Back fat
- Love handles
- The abdominal area
- The subgluteal fold
- Saddlebags
- Inner thighs
- Top of the knee
Cryolipolysis (or “cryo”) is particularly indicated for reshaping the figure and treating localized fat in specific areas that do not respond to exercise or a healthy diet (such as “love handles”, for example). It is the treatment of choice for people seeking a non-invasive alternative to liposuction or other forms of cosmetic surgery to eliminate unwanted fat cells or other unsightly bulges.
It should be noted, however, that cryolipolysis is not a treatment for obesity and should not be considered for general weight loss. It is preferable to maintain a stable weight and a balanced diet to optimize and sustain results.
How does a cryolipolysis session work?
- Before treatment, you’ll meet one of our specialists for an information session to discuss your expectations, your health and your medical history. She will also ensure that you are a good candidate for cryolipolysis through a clinical examination. This consultation is offered.
- During the session, you will be comfortably seated. The specialist will take photos and measurements of the areas to be treated. Medical felt-tip marks will be drawn on the skin for optimal handpiece application.
- A gel-coated plate is applied to the chosen area to protect the skin from the cold.
- A handpiece, connected to the device, is placed on the area to be treated. A suction effect is felt, followed by gradual cooling until the area is numb. A standard session lasts 1 hour 10 minutes (for sufficient cooling of fatty tissue) and 45 minutes for the chin.
- During treatment, you can rest, read or work in peace.
- After cold exposure, the device will be removed and the skin cleaned. It is normal to feel slight pain or discomfort in the treated area during the first few minutes and after treatment. This discomfort may last a few days, depending on the area selected and the sensitivity of each individual.
- Business resumes immediately. The treated area is slightly red and numb for a few hours. Following suction of the skin, a few small haematomas may appear, but these disappear after a few days. It is advisable to drink plenty of fluids over the following days (to help the lymphatic system drain and eliminate the destroyed fat cells) and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
What results can we expect?
Results depend on the initial depth of the fat fold and the type of adipose tissue, but are generally visible after 6 weeks. Depending on the results, an additional session may be scheduled. The procedure can reduce fat folds by 20 to 40% per session. Elimination is definitive and results remain stable over the long term.
- The target area is cooled in a precise, controlled manner using an applicator connected to the cryolipolysis equipment.
- The fat cells under the skin are cooled to the precise temperature at which they are destroyed.
- Over the following weeks, the body will naturally metabolize these dead cells.
- No new cells will replace them: the elimination is total and definitive.
One to three sessions per zone may be required, depending on the desired result. A minimum of 6 weeks must elapse between two treatments. Cryolipolysis can be combined with other treatments, such as fractional radiofrequency, to simultaneously treat fat deposits and sagging skin.
In conclusion, the cold treatment of cryolipolysis is a safe and effective option for eliminating localized fat deposits or unwanted bulges, without undergoing more invasive surgery. Does cryolipolysis help you lose weight?
Cryolipolysis is a non-surgical procedure that helps reduce body fat in stubborn areas, but does not in itself make you lose weight. Cryolipolysis should ideally be used in conjunction with a healthy, balanced diet and regularexercise to achieve comprehensive, lasting weight loss.
Does cryolipolysis really work?
Cryolipolysis is a procedure that has been tried and tested for many years. Results vary according to patient and treatment area, but scientific studies have shown that cryolipolysis significantly reduces body fat. It is essential that fat cells are exposed to a sufficiently low temperature for a specific period of time to be destroyed. At Claris Clinic, we use recognized professional equipment and treatments are carried out by nurses under medical supervision, to guarantee you the best results in complete safety. What's the difference between cryotherapy and cryolipolysis?
Cryotherapy and cryolipolysis are two techniques that use cold, but have different objectives and methods: cryotherapy and cryolipolysis. cryotherapy is a technique used to relieve pain, improve sports performance and recovery, improve skin quality, manage stress and anxiety and improve sleep quality. The body is briefly exposed in a chamber to extreme temperatures below -100°c. In contrast, cryolipolysis is a technique that aims to reduce body fat in specific areas of the body that resist healthy eating and exercise, by cooling fat cells in these areas to low temperatures of around -8°c for over an hour.
