What is PRP treatment for hair?
PRP (or Platelet Rich Plasma) uses the growth factors present in the blood to combat hair loss and stimulate hair regrowth. The cells (platelets) injected release numerous growth factors that act directly on hair follicles, encouraging them to strengthen existing hair and build new ones.
New blood vessels also develop. In this way, PRPslows hair loss and promotes regrowthto increase hair density.
How does PRP work for hair?
Injections of PRP into the scalp can slow down hair loss (seasonal changes, hormonal changes, alopecia, etc.) and stimulate new growth by treating, for example, incipient baldness: hairline, temporal gulfs or diffuse alopecia. Certain scalp conditions can also be treated, such as scalp irritation or dandruff.
PRP injections can be accompanied by light therapy (LED) and scalp microneedling to optimize hair growth.
This treatment is also an excellent complement to hair transplantation, to help the grafts take well and accelerate healing in the donor area. Injections of PRP combined with stem cells can also be an effective treatment option and are offered at the Claris Clinic.

What have patients told us?
“… My hair is thinning and particularly fine. After years of vitamins and lotions of all kinds (Minoxidil, …) with no results, I decided to have a scalp PRP. After about 3 months, I’ve noticed a clear improvement: my hair is more beautiful, stronger and, above all, I’m losing it much less…”.
A.C. – Liège
” … I had been losing my hair continuously for a few years and tried many treatments. I had PRP and LED treatments at Claris Clinic and noticed that my hair was denser after the 2nd injection. I’m planning a 3rd. Thanks to the whole team, very friendly and professional!”

Avoid massaging the scalp on the first day.
One to three sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, are recommended, as well as an annual maintenance session to maintain results.

The result
The results of platelet-rich plasma injections into the scalp will be visible a few weeks after treatment, as the platelets begin to act and release the growth factors.
- After the first session, hair is already silkier and thicker.
- After the second session, hair loss slows down.
- After the third session, the hair starts to grow back.
As this is a non-surgical procedure, recovery is almost immediate. Most patients are able to return to work on leaving the clinic, with minimal discomfort at the injection site.
