Hips

Overly pronounced hips are often the result of fat accumulation linked to an unbalanced diet, lack of exercise or genetic factors. In women, this natural tendency is accentuated by pregnancy and breastfeeding. This excessive volume can lead to discomfort, particularly when dressing.

Liposuction is ideal for significant hip reduction, while cryolipolysis offers a non-invasive alternative for moderate fat deposits. These solutions help to restore a more harmonious silhouette.

Frequently asked questions

What is hip reshaping?

Hip reshaping is an aesthetic procedure designed to refine and sculpt the figure around the hips. Excess fat in this area is eliminated, and curves are redefined. Some people find it very difficult to eliminate the accumulation of fat around the hips, also known as “saddlebags” or “steatomeria”.

This often occurs after pregnancy or significant weight gain, but can also be due to hormonal variations or genetics. Switching to a balanced diet and regular exercise may not be enough to eliminate this excess, which is why hip reshaping is often considered.

What are the best hip reshaping techniques?

There are a number of different techniques for sculpting the hips. The most common, and most effective, are those we offer at Claris Clinic: hip liposuction and cryolipolysis.

  • Liposuction is a surgical procedure that effectively and permanently removes fat from the hips to reshape the contours of the body. Results are immediate and long-lasting, but the procedure does require a recovery period of several days to a few weeks.
  • Cryolipolysis of the hips, on the other hand, is a non-invasive technique that enables an almost immediate recovery. Results are not immediately visible, however, but take a few weeks to appear, and may require several sessions. This technique uses very low temperatures to destroy fat cells, which are then naturally eliminated over the course of several weeks.

These two methods are the most effective and guarantee hip reshaping. However, they can also be combined with other methods for optimal results. Liposuction, for example, is very often combined with radiofrequency or abdominoplasty, and even cryolipolysis (before or after) for more harmonious results.

We invite you to discuss this with your surgeon at your first consultation appointment, to find out which method best suits your needs.

Who can benefit from hip reshaping?

In addition to sufficient excess fat in the hips, it is important to have a good general health check-up, otherwise surgery will not be possible. It is also advisable to undergo this procedure when your weight has been stable for some time, in which case post-procedure results could be affected. Remember that these are not weight-loss methods, but hip reshaping procedures, so it’s important that your expectations are realistic.

Are the results permanent?

The results are permanent, as the fat cells are eliminated or removed. They do not regenerate. However, if the patient gains weight, this can accumulate in the remaining or untreated fat cells, which then increase in volume and affect the results.

When is hip reshaping contraindicated?

Hip reshaping is contraindicated in cases of serious health problems, especially in the case of liposuction, which is a major surgical procedure. In the case of cryolipolysis, you can find out about the feasibility of the treatment during your consultation. Hip reshaping is not recommended for overweight or obese patients, as it does not allow for weight loss.

How much does hip reshaping cost?

The price depends first and foremost on the method used. Rates for liposuction start at 2950 euros and include all additional services (pre-operative consultations, treatments, anesthesia etc.). A more precise estimate will be provided after your first consultation with an expert.

The price of cryolipolysis depends on the number of sessions and areas treated. An area treated costs 325 euros. Prices are degressive, meaning that two sessions on the same area cost 620 euros, and three sessions 825 euros. 2 sessions on the abdomen cost 540 euros. On average, two to three sessions per area are required to achieve optimum results.
